I describe myself as a simplistic style self taught artist having painted full time professionally for the past 20 years. Over the years I have learnt to interpret something seen, remembered or imagined; a slight gesture or pose may be the inspiration for a painting.
Painting the matriarchs of the pacific in poses of simplicity expressing their serenity this year I am including children . You may notice the eyes shut I paint them shut as there is no one staring to disturb the moment & gives the painting a sense of calmness
Having been inspired by my extended Samoan family and many visits to the Islands. My art works now reside in homes in New Zealand & many countires around the world.
I live in Papamoa NZ & my studio opens onto a tropical garden filled with hibiscus,frangipani's,palms,taro leave& more
I have my own fale to sit in & every day is a Tropical insperation .
Having a sell-out Exhibition June 06 & 08
I will be one of the 12 artists in the 09 NZ favourite artists Calendar next year
